The Owl's Have It

Looking for an unconventional stuffed animal for a child? (Although I think many adults would love this too.) I spotted this Wooly Night Owl at Viva Terra. It's hand-spun and knitted by women in Kenya and dyed with plants grown in their gardens. Great gift for a great cause! ($79.00)

Super-size me

There's a great interview with Jessica, co-creator of Slaughterhead over at IndieFixx. They make tons of cool vinyl bags a wallets with unexpected designs. I think I'm at my bag buying capacity, but wallets are another story. I've owned many wallets, but they never seem big enough, especially the one I own now. It definitely doesn't hold all of my credit cards, and my bag is so darn big anyway that I can never find it when I need it. Then I saw this jumbo wallet. Nothing like killing two birds with one stone... ($60.00)

Reverting back to my childhood

This is going to be #2 on my list to Santa this year (#1 will be a tree to put it on)...Mighty Goods posted a link to a recycled tire swing in the shape of an airplane and I cannot think of a cooler gift for a kid. The swing is available at Best Price Toys (on sale for $210.95), which also has recycled tire swings in other shapes, like a kangaroo and and elephant. I agree with Mighty Goods on this one though, nothing is cooler than that airplane.

Green Queen

Delight.com is a a must-see for serious gift givers. The concept is so simple, they post a great product every 24 hours at a special price. Not to worry, even if you don't make it to the site in time, you can still purchase the items, but no longer at a discount.

I think this is a good continuation on my "This is a Plastic Bag" post. Here is a black and white green gift set that includes reusable grocery bags, produce bags, and water bottle---perfect for on-the-go shoppers.

Only 30 minutes left on the special price of $54.12!

This is a plastic bag

Sick of seeing girls walking around with this bag who never thought about the environment until Anya Hindmarch told them to? (Who are we kidding? They still don't think about the environment.)

Better yet, have a friend who is sick of seeing people walk around with them too? Why not make them a "This Is A Plastic Bag" Bag? Not only are you recycling, but the bag is reusable. (Via the blog at Craftster.org.) I wonder how much the hipsters would fight over one of these...
